The devalued industrial strip, hemmed in between railways and a canal, is being converted into a valuable district of Vilvoorde. Within this strategically located reconversion area on the edge of the European capital, we find the ‘t Sas project.
Carpet of clay pavers as part of architectural artwork by Martijn Sandberg
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Spaarndammerbuurt consisted of characteristic urban ensembles from the Amsterdam School period. The neighbourhood is still largely intact but over time it has picked up scars here and there which are slowly healing.
As many as 11 types of clay pavers are spread across eight terraces in six demo gardens
If you’d like to marvel at our clay pavers in a varied range of outdoor living spaces, you can do so from next year at the brand-new NOA outdoor experience centre in Kruisem (BE). Together with 29 other NOA outdoor living partners, it’s the place to be to experience the best of outdoor living.
22 April - Vande Moortel office in Oudenaarde
We set up the Vande Moortel Clay Paver Awards in order to promote and support unique designs created using clay pavers. Projects which rise to challenges such as sustainability, accessibility and cost efficiency, for example.
It is therefore our belief that high-quality fired clay pavers belong in such environments. That is why we want to draw attention to projects – both large and small, public and private – realised using our pavers and reward the people who designed them.
We are proud to announce the winners of the various categories of the Clay Paver Awards 2020-2021.
5 striking and characterful colours
The slim format of this brand new series of Wasserstrich clay pavers creates a powerful visual language.
The new linea7 facing bricks are produced using the Wasserstrich method which gives the visible surface a smooth, pure structure.
Our entire range of facing bricks is available as brick slips – the ideal solution for processing facing bricks when space and weight are a determining factor.
Facing bricks and clay pavers in unique colors and sizes
Brickworks Vande Moortel was established in 1864 in the Scheldt Valley in Oudenaarde. Today it is more active than ever at the same location. Under the management of the Vande Moortel family, the company has grown to become an important manufacturer at the top line of facing bricks and a reference in clay pavers. The fact that the business has retained its family style and has remained accessible at all levels makes the company extremely customer-focused. Currently the brickworks produces 95,000,000 bricks per year, destined for markets in Belgium, neighbouring countries, the Scandinavian countries, Eastern Europe and other export markets such as Japan, America and the Arabian Peninsula.
