Newhall, Harlow with Vande Moortel Clay Pavers

A high standard of design

The paved area over the bridge into Phase 2 of the prestigious Newhall Development indicates that there has been a different and innovative approach to the scheme’s landscape design. In itself, this is quite an achievement where standardisation of hard landscaping materials for urban developments is often the norm.

Both the bridge deck and footways over the Newpond Spring are paved in Vande Moortel’s Septima Sepia clay paving, which deliver a real identity and contemporary feel to the design of this extension of the New Hall urban development.

Major civil and highway engineering works to the initial stages of Phase 2 are now nearing completion. Roadways, footpaths, laybys and speed tables are constructed using Septima Sepia pavers - and form an integral part of the streetscape around the award winning development of bespoke new homes set in beautifully landscaped surroundings - further phases of which are planned to incorporate shared spaces.

As one of the materials carefully selected to give architectural style and form to the development, Vande Moortel’s Septima Sepia clay paving offers a genuine warmth to the overall landscape.

Both the professional jury and the public chose the Huis van Hendrik as a winner. It is the first time in the history of this prize that a project has won a prize from both the professional jury and the public. It can rightly be referred to as unique.
