Impressive interplay between planting, clay pavers and swimming pool

The client wanted a romantic garden filled with an abundance of flowers that would provide eye-catching blooms all year round.

Stijn Ameloot created a garden design that featured an impressive interplay between the planting, the clay pavers and the swimming pool. The precise, detailed, high-quality finish is ensured by a combination of features including the creative and playful borders and the beautiful monolithic edging around the swimming pool, constructed using mitre-cut SeptimA Onyx clay pavers bonded and laid on edge.

Both the client and Stijn Ameloot were immediately struck by the new Onyx clay paver with its natural patina which matched up to everyone’s expectations perfectly. The combination of this dark paver with the anthracite-coloured swimming pool and the gazebo in black cedar wood turned out to be a good choice. Interspersed in the carpet of clay pavers are recesses designed to serve as plant beds: their clever design makes it look as if the plants have grown up between the clay pavers all by themselves.

The greenery in the garden is provided by a mix of perennials, carefully chosen for year-round blooms. In each plant bed are bulbs, just waiting for spring to come round again so that they can burst into life. Here and there, the abundance of flowers is complemented by herbs so that you can literally enjoy culinary delights straight from the terrace.
A beautiful solitary multi-stemmed tree makes the garden even more attractive, creating atmosphere at dusk when the garden lighting comes into its own.
